Livingston U13's 14 v 30 Kilmarnock U13's

The Kilmarnock players turned up at a wet Livingston and put on a display, finally playing the team game and passing the ball, going through phase after phase and scoring try after try.

From the kick off Livingston kicked to their backs, the winger running through and catching the ball and then straight on to our 22 before the boys realised what had happened, once they did a great tackle was made, ball won, then passed along the line (still in our 22) for Bailey, with still two men to beat, to open his legs and run the length of the park to score - a mixture of teamwork and individual skill for the try.

The other stand out try was a great breakaway run from our raging bull Logan, smashing his way clear on the 10 meter line to make a break before offloading, just before a tackle on the try line, to the hands of supporting Fraser Sands to put more points on the board.

Livingston were strong in the scrum today, the Kilmarnock scrum going backwards at times, and the boys guilty of not retreating the full 10 yards when penalised, leading to more penalties and a further 10 yard retreat - something that the boys need to learn but that is nitpicking really from a great display from them.

The Kilmarnock boys played well, kept their heads, and finally put the offloading in to practice, as well as making those individual tackles, when they play as a team they will score.

Thanks to all the 16 who could make it, and the parents/supporters for making the long journey through on a driech day - the rugby would have brightened the day though.

Man of the Match today was Bailey, not just for his opening try but for his overall play, his reward for this was to be subbed off for the second period, such is the strength within this team.
