Kilmarnock U13's v Dalziel U13's

Due to Greenock not being able to field a team we managed to rearrange a future fixture with Dalziel and welcomed them to Bellsland for our first home game of the season.

A tight opening saw the Kilmarnock defence being tested but standing firm before a great break and interplay between our backs allowed Frazer Sands to run over the first try of the game with Bailey Speir converting.

From the restart Dalzeil ran straight at a gap in the Kilmarnock line, exploiting it and scoring,a tactic they repeated straight form the restart and scoring another try - a quick regroup whilst the conversion was being taken and the gap was plugged, the boys then showed some level headedness and continued to play what they had been practicing in training - retention of the ball - running in two tries (Max Neil, Adam Khwada and Matt Grindlay) with Bailey converting two of them.

A couple of awkward falls / knee strains meant Adam and Murray taken off the field, but Kilmarnock had a strong bench and the replacements slotted in admirably, the next two scores however went to Dalziel who had some strong runners before a great break from Corey McLean resulted in a try followed by some excellent rucking and handling allowing Adam Scott to score with Bailey once again slotting the conversion.

A good natured game, played in the best of spirits with Kilmarnock U13's starting to gel as a team and work for each other.
