Killie U13 28 v 0 Allan Glens

With a squad of 19 players, Kilmarnock U13’s were looking forward to playing Allan Glens at Bellsland today. However with opposition arriving, we were informed that the U13 team had cancelled!

Not to be put off, following an impromptu training session, the boys were split into two teams and played a very entertaining Development match against each other.

Based on previous games, the emphasis was on support play and using the ball more effectively by passing it along the line. We also wanted to encourage runners to go wide on the outside of the defender, rather than constantly cutting inside, where they would be met by a swarm of defenders.

To be honest, the three games were very entertaining with small changes being made to each team at the start of each 15 minute session.

The boys were certainly listening and you could see the improvement as the games progressed.

In the end, the score was 45 - 43 with Thomas’s team just edging Lawries.

We have an away game next week against a combined East Kilbride/Dalziel team, hopefully we’ll have a team to play against this time.

Well done to Jackson and Logan playing their first game for U13s and also, a big welcome back to Sammi following his broken nose.
