The combined side was short, so 4 Kilmarnock players started with the opposition.
Garnock/Ardrossan started well, using their larger pack to run the ball at the Kilmarnock defence.
The first 10 minutes were close with both sides defending well and forcing mistakes. The Kilmarnock side lacked a little of the attacking polish that had been evident in their previous fixtures.
The first try of the game came from Adam McIver who snapped up a loose ball and scampered up the touchline to score for Garnock against his team mates.
The Kilmarnock S1-2's responded well to being behind for the first time this season by scoring 12 unanswered tries, converting 10 of them. With the larger squad the Kilmarnock coach swapped players on a regular basis. The lighter Kilmarnock pack coped well with the heavier opposition and tries were spread between forwards and backs with some good support play and counter rucking.
Rory McMurry then scored for Garnock, slicing through the Kilmarnock defence to score under the posts.
Kilmarnock responded by scoring another 2 tries before the referee blew for full time.
