Kilmarnock u14 12 Cartha Queens Park u14 43

U14's Came up against a powerful Cartha Queens Park today. The final score of 43-12 didn't seem reflective of how the game went. Despite Cartha having an average size advantage, we matched up really well. As always our rucking was great, and there were some good tackles. The difference was a couple of their bigger players.

It seemed like several of Cartha's tries started with a Kilmarnock attack. Also, I said to coach Dougal Cartha seemed to let the ball to do all the work, while all our yards were gained through 'blood and snotters'. Couple of things for us to work on in training.

Our two tries were scored by Finlay and Laughlan, one of which was converted by Finlay.

I had a conversation with a parent after the game today. I said this was my 4th year at the club, and I've seen  a number of our players through this time. Every single one has improved in this time. So while we lost today, the improvement participation and enjoyment is what counts.

Fitness training with coach Paul is on tomorrow evening, and we'll be back training Wednesday. There were 20 players there today which is amazing, hope we can keep in up.

No game next weekend, as its a bank holiday and a few folks are away.
