Tough defeat away today at Greenock Wanderers. We took a squad of 16 to the Tail of The Bank, but were pipped at the end by a single unconverted try.
For reasons unknown we seem to start games slow, in jig time today we were three tries down and right up against it. But we came into our own and fought back to bring the match all square at three tries each. From then on we traded scores with Greenock till the end, when they got ahead by two. Last play of the game Jason scored to reduce deficit to one. But it was too little too late. Greenock were a really tough set of boys, however, we made some great tackles right through the side. Lots of encouraging signs today, hopefully the boys enjoyed such a competitive game.
Four of our six tries were scored by Finlay Grant, one by Laughlan Whitelaw and the last by Jason Weir. All were successfully converted by Finlay. Jack Cuthbertson Captained the side today.
Thanks to the parents who brought players and were there to support us.
