Running up to today's game it was doubtful that we would be able to produce a full team due to injuries but at the last minute we ran onto the pitch with a full 15 squad.
Kilmarnock started off strong with some great form; both teams seemed to be evenly matched to begin with..
Kilmarnock's Tank McGill made the 1st score with Thomas Logan converting, but by the end of the 1st half the score board read 19 - 7 Kilmarnock felt they could come back and still beat Wigtonshire, that was till Wigtonshire brought on 3 eligible U16 players from Newton Stewart (non club members) who's game had been cancelled that day. The whole dynamics of the game changed.
Minutes into the second half Kilmarnock's Tank McGill scored again which brought the scores level.
The boys were up against some strong powerful forwards today resulting in some huge tackles in today's game which resulted in Conner McNulty coming off.
With Captain Luke O'Callaghan unable to play today due to a broken nose, Layton Greer stepped in to play at Kilmarnock's Hooker. He had a blinding match with some excellent tackles!
Our forwards Mitchell Bickett, Connor Paton and Troy McLean seemed to be all over Wigtonshire, continually stopping them in their tracks.
Andrei Toft put in his usual 110% meanwhile Callum'twinkle toes' Campbell had a couple of good runs along with Thom 'slinky' Clelland!
Need to work on our positional awareness, ball handling and accuracy in the pass.
