Good all round team performance

Kilmarnock welcomed Whitecraigs to Bellsland, hoping to get back to winning ways. The games' tempo started really high and didn't disappoint throughout. With lots of good player link ups and support play, with scrum half Robert Paxton disrupting their play and moving the ball well.

Seven minutes saw Killie break the Whitecraigs defence with a great forwards display, pushing Whitecraigs short of their 22. Man of the match Jack Burns picked up the ball and side stepped their full back before sprinting home for a well worked team try. Jamie Shedden's kick going the distance but narrowly missing the target.

Whitecraig's backs tested the Killie defence again by forcing them wide with an excellent display from their 10 and 12, fast accurate passing nearly paid of however Kerr Borland was not letting anyone through, with an excellent covering tackle taking their winger into touch.

Kilmarnock lost shape and Whitecraigs exploited it by running them wide and pushing deep into the twenty two. Good counter rucking by Coby Malcolm stealing the ball and driving out of the twenty two. Good support play again from captain Owen securing the ball, allowing Jamie Shedden to kick and chase deep into the Whitecraigs half.

Twenty four minutes into the game and Killie were back on the score sheet with an excellent display again from the team. Alistair Clark showing great individual play drawing the Whitecraigs players right before skilfully cutting back in side and sliding over to take the points to 10. Jamie Shedden stepped up and put the first miss behind him with a great conversion putting Killie 12 points ahead.

30 minutes into the game Kilmarnock provided the spectators with a gutsy 10 minute period of defence. Whitecraigs keen to score before the break came at Killie repeatedly pushing them back to the try line but the boys weren't in the mood to give them any points, making try saving tackles one after the other.

Half time score 12 - 0 to the home side.

Whitecraigs started the second half with speed and good ball handling again testing Killie's defence early on coming close a few occasions.

Fifty five minutes in and Killie scored the final try and conversion of the game with Gary Greenshields proving his fitness has improved and the prop forwards can run. Taking the ball just over the half way line and powering his way through. Kerr Borland capped it of with an accurate kick between the posts. Rounding of an excellent team effort from start to finish, fighting for every ball right to the end.
