Another superb away bonus point win

The Penguins continued their push towards the league title with superb team performance at a difficult venue. With Dalziel sitting in 3rd place in the league this could possibly have been a banana skin trip. Dalziel came out the blocks the quickest and threw everything they had but Killies defence stood firm. Killie eventually turned the ball over in the midfield the ball was moved out wide and Craig Hunter raced in from the halfway line 0 - 5 after 7 minutes. Back came Dalziel but Killie were determined to keep their line intact with some strong tackling. Killie won the ball again and this time Graham McCue scampered in under the posts McWhirter added the extra 0 - 12 after 12 minutes. Killie were now on top and played some outstanding Rugby in both attack and defence. A fine set piece moved allowed Brian Gaw to stroll down his wing to score in the corner 0 - 17 with 22 minutes played. Dalziel kicked off the Killie forwards fielded the ball and moved steadily up the field the ball was eventually moved out wide through several pairs of hand which allowed Ewan Caldwell to score on the 30 minute mark to extend the lead to 0 - 22 and a bonus point for the fourth try. With time running out on the first half one final push allowed Adam Linton to outpace the defence to score a great try McWhirter converted and the halftime whistle went 0 - 29 at the break.
The 2nd half started in the same vain as the first, Dalziel pushing hard the Killie defence standing firm and after 10 minutes Killie increased their lead this time Calum Ridout scoring after a chip and chance McWhirter knocked over the conversion to put Killie 36 point ahead. Dalziel were beginning to tire and it was no surprise when Killie scored again this time Craig Hunter collected the ball in his in goal area and set of on a mazy run eventually running the length of the pitch to score in the far corner 0 - 41 after 60 minutes. Killie to their credit kept playing as a team and after 65 minutes increased their lead with a Calum Ridout try 0 - 46 with 15 minute still to play. Killie pushed hard to get the 50 point margin but it took the a further 12 minutes for them to score again. Dalziel cleared their lines Robert Hill collected the high ball on the halfway line and set off towards the Dalziel line eventually outpacing the Dalziel full back to score in the corner and complete the scoring.
A satisfactory day for both the players and coaches. Player of the match was awarded to |Ewan Caldwell for his all round display both in attack and defence.
Next week Killie entertain Strathaven in a first v second place league decider.
