Well Done Boys

Grange Academy had cause to celebrate yet again recently – when its U16 rugby team trounced opponents to lift the prestigious Ayrshire Schools Bowl.

The boys beat Arran 60-0 and Queen Margaret 52-10 in the final rounds, played at Ardrossan.

Heroes of the day were Gregor Paxton, Jack McLean, Adam Linton, David McLatchie and Ian Paton, who scored the tries.

Councillor Iain Linton, Spokesperson for Lifelong Learning, said: “Congratulations to Grange U16s rugby squad for their well-earned victory.

“I am particularly delighted that three players were Park School pupils, meaning that this was an inclusive campus team. This is something that Jamie Houston, Head of Grange Rugby, Jamie Armstrong of Trust Rugby and Colin Sturgeon, Kilmarnock RFC Development Officer, have been working to achieve – with great success”.
